What we do

Data Knowhow has been operating since 2008 to provide services in data journalism, data science, data analytics, data communication, data visualisation, graphic design, writing and editing. We are a licensed labour force supplier with expertise in data, design, communication and training. We work with clients to improve insights from corporate data, big data and open public data and help justify the investment in data and AI projects.

Data Knowhow provides end-to-end solutions, helping clients build databases, models, insights and solutions with their stakeholders in mind. But we also build capacity, helping our clients build in-house expertise through our training and mentoring programs.

Who we are

Data Knowhow is directed by Lisa Cornish.

Lisa Cornish is a data journalist, scientist, analyst, communication, design, visualisation expert and geospatial analyst with expertise in big data and open data.

Lisa works with clients to improve communications strategies, highlighting the value of data journalism and interactives to enable end-users to better understand issues, policies and decisions being communicated, and aims to build capability within organisations to achieve these goals through training and knowledge sharing.

As a journalist, her work has featured in Devex, News Corp Australia, The Mandarin and SmartCompany.

Lisa has more than 20 years of experience in data and communications and is a respected expert in the field. She is a current member of the 2026 UN World Data Forum Programme Committee providing her expertise to global discussions.

Who we support

The Studio International and Academy International is a dance school/training academy in the ACT Region with proven quality and demonstrated success. Data Knowhow sponsors a scholarship program providing access to Canberra-based dancers.
