Workplace Gender Equality Agency

WGEA are required to publish Australian workplace gender data, but an existing tool could not be managed internally and was considered too complex for engagement. WGEA had a Tableau environment, allowing them to develop, manage and publish their own interactive tools.
WGEA engaged Lisa Cornish to develop their new interactive tool using Tableau. This required data dating back to 2013 to be included, along with new data collected for 2021.

Lisa Cornish was required to transform historic data and ensure it could be combined with newly collected data. She worked with WGEA to model data across time and develop a new data extraction approach.
In developing the interactive tools, key messages in the data needed to be identified to ensure there was a story and information flowed easily for the user. Styles needed to meet WGEA standards, which had limited colours. The tools also needed to be easily managed in-house, and needed to be automated as much as possible.
Further support was provided to WGEA as part of annual enhancements and changes to the visual style in line with agency requirements.

Interactive tools and training guides were provided to WGEA for internal management and publication. This has allowed WGEA to manage their information product and allow modification to data as needed based on business feedback.
